Who We Are
Ian Edwards
Founder & Ride Leader
Ian is from the UK and has called Taiwan home for well over a decade. His background is in education and sports coaching, but discovered a love of road cycling back in 2012, by chance, after being injured playing football. He’s never looked back, and even before his cycling days here in Taiwan, Ian would often be found riding his motorbike around the mountains exploring and seeking adventure.
It was while on a cycling tour of the Italian Alps, back in 2019, when he first conceived the idea of cycling tours in Taiwan. The mountains are different here, given the sub tropical climate, but equally challenging and beautiful.
Easy going, affable and knowledgeable, Ian is well known for leading cyclists to fabulous places on roads that few people even realised existed.
Adam Wise
Ride Leader
Adam is from the UK, however has fallen in love with Taiwan and has been here for five years now. Why you ask?
The incredible mountain roads and routes have meant that his love and passion for cycling has magnified.
He has been a competitive sportsman in numerous sports including Ironman events and equally loves to push himself on the bike. There is no better place to do that for him here as options are endless.
Adam’s background as a Personal Trainer has meant that he is excellent in helping individuals and groups achieve their goals whilst enjoying the experience. You will certainly receive plenty of motivation and encouragement on the tougher days.
JJ
Ride Leader
The newest member of the guiding team, JJ has been in Taiwan for 4 years, fitting in her love of cycling and marathon running around the rigours of doing a PhD at Taipei Medical University.

JJ is from Thailand and competed in several international marathons including Boston, but it was only when she arrived in Taiwan that her love of cycling blossomed. Now she prefers to use her endurance, determination and adventurous spirit to ride around the mountains or complete epic long distance rides.
​
Energetic, warm and friendly, JJ can always been seen riding with a smile and she'll be available to guide you on the shorter tours out of Taipei.
Licia
Administrator & Logisitcs
Licia is a key member of the Epic Ride team and there's no doubt that our operation couldn't run as smoothly as it does without her.
​
Licia's from Taiwan, and as well as being fluent in Mandarin, she's also able to speak English, French and Japanese to a high level, which is critical to ensure clear communications with local partners and our international riders.
​
Licia has wonderful personal relationships with our accommodation hosts across the island, our ever growing luggage courier network, and bike suppliers, making things as easy as possible to ensure our riders don't have any concerns and can focus on enjoying their experience.
Marcus
Support Vehicle Driver & Coordinator
Marcus is the leader of our support team and has been driving support vehicles for cycling tours for almost 10 years, and a friend of Epic Ride Taiwan since 2017.

Marcus is able to communicate well with customers as he speaks excellent English, as well as Mandarin, his native language.
​
As a Taiwanese himself, Marcus knows the island's roads like nobody else and is always in the know regarding current road conditions which is vital in keeping our riders on the best roads, safe and well fuelled.
