Day 1 - Taipei to Jiufen

Distance - 106km.  Elevation Gain 2282m.  Estimated Riding Time - 5-6hrs

Our first day will start beside the iconic Taipei 101 tower, then we head to the south of the city towards Taipei Zoo.

Our first climb will take on the road #47 from where we'll drop down to the amazing Fei-Cui Reservoir. After soaking in that scenery we'll roll down to Pinglin. From here, we head up the undulating valley road that brings us to Shuangxi.

Out of Shuangxi we ride up to the iconic Buyuanting pavilion. After the obligatory photo, we'll ride down to Jiufen.

The day isn't quite over though, as we'll take on the Teapot Mountain climb before arriving at our b&b for the night in the quaint, gold mining village from the Japanese era.

Day 2 - Jiufen to Taipei

Distance - 126km.  Elevation Gain 2458m.  Estimated Riding Time - 5-6hrs

Day 2 will take us deep into the aboriginal heartlands of Hsinchu County.

Day 2 will begin dropping down the hill to Ruifang, then a few kilometres of flat to warm up and we are straight into the first climb. The 700m ascent of Wufenshan, with it's radar station on the top.

After we drop down to Pingxi, famous for it's lantern festival, we climb over the winding climb of Xiping Road. Beyond this is the penultimate climb of the day up Wuzhishan, having a cup of coffee in the cafe at the top, before we drop down to take on the final ascent, which is all the way up to Datun summit, in the Yangmingshan National Park.

Enjoy the view of Taipei and far beyond before we drop back down to Taipei to end the tour.
